For me it was a mixture of 60% pure relief, 30% fear and 10% confusion.

Pure relief because it felt like I had an answer. That it wasn't my fault for feeling and acting the way I did. That there was a whole community of people who would understand the way I act, and within it my responses to situation were seen as normal. However, there was also fear that this label that is used to explain, has such a stigma surrounding it that people would stereotype and judge me before they actually know if they knew I was autistic. It took me a year to accept that even though some people may be judgemental about autism, it didn't mean I had to keep being autistic a secret. Actually, the only way to try and stop people's judgement about autism was to be proud of it. It's not my dirty little secret anymore, it's just apart of being me. And if some people don't like that, I don't need to talk to them. And if I am able to change some people's perceptions on autism, then that's great.

So, I decided to design and draw my own creations that either show that autism is not my kryptonite and that I don't want people to assume to know me as soon as they hear i'm autistic, or show the humorous side of autism that comes from miscommunication or events in life.

https://images.podos.io/bkwxphpsvmlly7mj5d20rkpadwa2yd0rqjgmubw8wvbzdl6z.png.jpg?w=1140&h=855&z=2.5&fx=0.50788407711574&fy=0.53940211739853
https://images.podos.io/bkwxphpsvmlly7mj5d20rkpadwa2yd0rqjgmubw8wvbzdl6z.png.jpg?w=1920&h=1440&z=2.5&fx=0.50788407711574&fy=0.53940211739853
]}
